Designed with simplicity, warmth, and calm in mind, this modern mountain home is a true sommerhus—a traditional Nordic holiday home deeply rooted in the Danish concept of hygge. Rather than a manicured lawn, the cabin sits on a 6-acre natural plot (naturgrund), intentionally left wild to encourage a deep connection with the peaceful forest surroundings. It offers a refined, minimalist alternative to the traditional cabin stay.

Each room keeps the design simple and uncluttered, with soft bedding, warm wood tones, and thoughtful details that make the home feel peaceful without feeling sparse. The first bedroom offers a king bed and attached full bathroom and the second bedroom offers a queen bed and attached full bathroom.

The layout works well for families, couples, or a small group of friends traveling together. With an additional half bedroom, guests have plenty of space to get ready after a day in the park or wind down before a quiet evening at home.

WiFi is provided for streaming, remote work, and general use. Cell service can be limited in the mountains and near Shenandoah National Park, so we recommend enabling WiFi calling before your trip.

🧯 Safety & Cleanliness
All bedding is washed between stays. The home is equipped with smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and exterior security cameras for guest safety. Cameras are exterior only and do not view private guest spaces.

🔥 Fire Pit & Wood Stove
The outdoor fire pit and indoor wood stove are available for guest use when conditions allow. Please follow all instructions in the property guide. Fires may be restricted during burn bans, high winds, or unsafe weather conditions.

🚗 Parking & Access
Parking is available in the driveway only. RVs, trailers, and oversized vehicles require advance approval.

❄️ Winter Weather
Winter weather can affect mountain-area roads. AWD/4WD may be helpful during snow or ice, and travel insurance is recommended during winter months.

🦌Nature & Wildlife
The home is in a natural setting, so you may see insects, wildlife, deer, birds, and the occasional bear. Please do not feed wildlife and keep pets leashed when outside unfenced areas.
