Ridgeview Retreat is built for the kind of trip where everyone can spread out, settle in, and enjoy the view. The home sits on a hilltop plateau across 14 private acres, with wide views of the Massanutten range and the George Washington National Forest.

🍽️ Gather
The main living area is open, bright, and comfortable, with the kitchen, dining, and living room flowing together into a natural hub for the group. The kitchen is well stocked for meals at home — quality cookware, dinnerware, kid-friendly items, and plenty of room to cook, snack, and gather.

🛏️ Rest
The home sleeps eight across three bedrooms plus a finished basement. The primary has a king bed, private bathroom, desk, large closet, and TV. The second king bedroom catches some of the best light in the house, especially at sunrise. Downstairs, the third bedroom has a full bed, a twin, and a twin trundle, with a nearby TV room and sofa bed that works well for kids or extra hangout space.

The separate game barn is where the group really spreads out — a pool table with mountain views, surround sound, movie space, dual TVs, and an oversized chess and checkers board upstairs. It's the kind of space that turns a stay into a get-together.

You'll want a car here — Fort Valley is rural and rideshare doesn't reliably reach it. The roads are paved most of the way, with a gravel final approach and driveway; standard vehicles are fine in normal conditions, but AWD or 4WD helps in snow or ice. Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park are about 40 minutes away, and the nearest towns for groceries, gas, and restaurants are roughly 30 minutes. Cell service can be limited depending on your carrier, though the home's WiFi supports calling on most devices.

📶 Connectivity • Strong high-speed WiFi handles streaming, remote work, and video calls. Cell service can be spotty depending on your carrier, but WiFi calling works on most devices.

🛒 Groceries • Fort Valley is rural, so many guests stock up before arriving. Instacart, Uber Eats, and Walmart delivery generally serve the area, with availability varying.

🧯 Safety & Cleanliness • Linens and towels are professionally laundered between stays. Smoke and CO detectors, fire extinguishers, and first aid supplies are throughout the home. Please use care around stairs, decks, grills, and the game barn, and supervise children outdoors.

🔒 Security • A Ring doorbell camera monitors the main entrance and driveway; no interior spaces are monitored. A Minut noise monitor is also present to help preserve the quiet — it measures sound levels only and does not record audio.

🏡 Privacy & Quiet • The home is very private, and we ask that guests help preserve the peaceful setting, as voices, music, and outdoor noise can carry across the valley, especially in the evening.

🦌 Nature All Around • You’re surrounded by it here — expect deer, wild turkeys, rabbits, foxes, and the occasional black bear nearby. Please don’t leave food, trash, or scented items outside, as they can attract wildlife.

🧹 Property Services • Exterior teams (landscaping, lawn care) may occasionally visit during your stay. Visits are brief, exterior only, and never require access inside; we’ll give advance notice when we can.
