About the property

Ravens’ Ridge is a spacious, eight acre mountain retreat with a stunning westward view of the Shenandoah River valley and over 3,000 square feet to relax and spread out. Surrounded by wooded hillsides, the home offers a king primary suite, two queen bedrooms, a finished basement, Roku TVs throughout, and a loft workspace. It’s a peaceful, comfortable getaway for families, couples, and small groups.

Ravens’ Ridge is designed to feel open, welcoming, and connected to nature, with distinct spaces for gathering, working, and relaxing. Whether you spend the day hiking, reading on the deck, cooking together, or settling in for a movie night, the house is arranged to make everyday moments feel easy.

We’ve carried the nature-inspired setting throughout the home, from birding and nature guides to the custom three-raven mural in the entryway, designed and painted by local artist Christy Baker.

MAIN LEVEL
The main level centers around a warm, open living space with comfortable seating, a Roku TV, and large windows overlooking the surrounding trees. The dining table seats six and works just as well for shared meals as it does for board games or slow morning breakfasts.

Just off the great room, the fully stocked kitchen is equipped for everything from quick, get-up-and-go meals to full family dinners. Guests will find thoughtful extras including a Nespresso machine, Instant Pot, rice maker, baking sheets, Silpat mats, casserole and baking dishes, a stockpot, pans, and more.

Two queen bedrooms are located on this level, along with a full bathroom featuring separate sink and shower areas, offering extra ease for groups getting ready at the same time.

UPSTAIRS LOFT & PRIMARY SUITE
Upstairs, the primary suite offers a quieter, more private retreat with a king bed, forest views, and a spacious bathroom featuring a walk-in shower and Toto Washlet bidet.

The loft includes a dedicated workspace with strong Wi-Fi, making the home especially comfortable for guests blending rest with remote work. Fair warning: once you sink into the Big Joe XXXL beanbag, resisting a nap may take more willpower than expected.

FINISHED BASEMENT
Downstairs, the finished basement is set up as a relaxed hangout zone. You’ll find a 65” 4K Roku TV, DVD player, and a library of 80+ movies. Nearby, a dedicated handmade live-oak gaming table is ready for puzzles, board games, and long evenings in.

The bar area, featuring a handmade live-oak bar top, is a great spot for casual snacks or evening cocktails after a day of hiking. A full bathroom on this level makes it easy for groups to spread out and gives larger groups access to an extra shower.

A complete laundry area with washer, dryer, work tub, and drying rack is available for guest use. An iron and ironing board are located in the first-level hall closet between the bedrooms.

OUTDOOR SPACES
The 900 sq. ft. raised deck is one of the home’s most inviting features. With outdoor dining, peaceful wooded views, a hammock below, and yard games nearby, it’s an easy place to linger over morning coffee or unwind in the evening.

Gated deck openings add peace of mind for families with younger children, while the wooded setting gives the entire property a sense of privacy and calm. A ring road/path around the property is great for a stroll or dog walk.

Like most mountain destinations in the area, a vehicle is needed for getting around, dining out, and exploring nearby attractions.

📕 Property Guide
After booking, guests receive a detailed digital property guide with local recommendations, including favorite wineries, restaurants, hiking trails, and attractions, along with helpful tips to make the most of their stay.

🐕 Pet Policy
Up to two dogs are welcome at Ravens’ Ridge, with a pet fee. Additional dogs may be considered on a case-by-case basis with prior approval. Service animals are always welcome; please let us know in advance so we can notify our cleaning team. In Virginia, emotional support animals are treated as pets for short-term rental stays and are subject to the same pet policies and fees.

🔥 Fireplace
The main-level fireplace is available for guest use from October through March. Starter firewood is provided so you can enjoy a cozy evening by the fire during cooler months. Please use the fireplace only as instructed in the property guide.

🚗 Vehicle Access and Parking
The property is accessed via approximately half a mile of well maintained paved and gravel community roads. Outside of winter weather, 2WD vehicles can navigate the mountain roads without issue. 4WD or AWD is typically required from December through early March. The driveway accommodates up to four vehicles.

🧯 Safety and Cleanliness
All linens, including quilts and blankets, are freshly laundered between guests. The cabin includes smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and is professionally cleaned and inspected before each arrival to ensure a safe, comfortable stay.

🦌 Wildlife and Surroundings
Ravens’ Ridge is set in a wooded mountain community, where it’s common to see deer, rabbits, foxes, birds, and other local wildlife. While the home is carefully maintained, occasional insects may appear, especially in warmer months. Please let us know if anything seems out of the ordinary.

🏡 Property Care and Updates
We continually improve Ravens' Ridge to enhance guest comfort. Furniture or décor may differ slightly from photos, but quality and style remain constant. During your stay, our landscaping or pest control team may service the property as needed—these visits are brief and do not require interior access.

🌸 Special Requests & Celebrations

Please reach out after booking for details. Advance notice is appreciated, though we’ll do our best to accommodate last-minute requests.

Our stay at Raven’s Ridge was wonderful!! The house and setting were exactly as described. We found Raven's Ridge to be spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished and decorated, comfortable and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed the wrap around deck, nicely equipped kitchen, and the downstairs game and TV area. Having the loop trail on the property was a nice bonus as were the outdoor games. Best of all was that this lovely home had the best views from almost every room! It was hard to leave the house, but we did enjoy nearby hikes in the G. Richard Thompson WMA, wineries, and one day in Shenandoah National Park - all within a very easy drive. Matt was a great host - friendly and responsive. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it without hesitation.

Very private and serene setting. My family and I enjoyed our time at this lovely home. Our boys (8 & 11) loved the basement of board games, and the PS4, and our city dog was living his best life on hikes in the woods. We plan to go back to the area soon!

My guests and I had an amazing time during our stay; honestly, we didn't want to leave! I loved how quiet and intimate the location was. It was conveniently close to some really nice wineries, and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. We truly enjoyed grilling, hanging out on the wrap-around porch, playing games in the basement, and making a group brunch in the well-equipped kitchen. The only thing I would mention is that if someone is not a fan of bugs, they should be mindful when booking. However, even with that, it wasn’t the worst thing—and I say that as someone who really hates bugs! All in all, I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this place.
