Front Royal, Virginia
Far View Shenandoah | Hot Tub + Movie & Game Room
About the property
Discover Far View Shenandoah, a private cabin reimagined from one of the area's original hunting cabins for rest and reconnection. Panoramic views stretch for miles, mornings unfold on the screened porch, and evenings end in the private hot tub under a sky full of stars. Inside, a lower-level movie and game room gives groups room to gather, while a fully stocked kitchen and fast WiFi make it easy to settle in and stay awhile.
Once one of the area's original hunting cabins, Far View Shenandoah has been thoughtfully reimagined for comfort while keeping its rustic character. It sits high above the valley, with panoramic views that stretch for miles.
🍽️ Gather
The open main level centers on a two-story painted-brick fireplace, with windows framing the Shenandoah Valley and a dining table for six. The kitchen is a real one — stainless appliances plus a Vitamix, KitchenAid mixer, and a four-way coffee setup (Nespresso, Keurig, French press, and drip), stocked with cookware, bakeware, and glassware for everything from a slow breakfast to a holiday dinner. A breakfast nook seats four, and the island bar two more.
🎬 Play
There's room to spread out and play. The upstairs loft adds two futons and a smart TV — an easy hideaway for kids or movie nights. Downstairs, the movie and game room is the entertainment hub: a 75-inch smart TV with soundbar over a big sectional, a second fireplace, foosball, an arcade machine, and a stack of board games, with a walkout straight to the hot tub.
🔥 Unwind
Outside is where the views earn the name. The screened porch looks out over the valley; the front deck has a propane grill and café seating for meals al fresco. Out back, soak in the private hot tub (open year-round), gather around the propane fire pit, or stretch out on the lawn as the sky fills with stars.
🛏️ Rest
The cabin sleeps six across three bedrooms. On the main level, the Blue Room has a king bed and a dedicated workspace, and the Red Room offers a queen and a built-in desk. Downstairs, the Green Room — a king — sits just off the movie and game room and the hot tub, with extra privacy for guests who want their own corner. The main-level bath has a tub and shower; the lower-level bath has a walk-in shower, ideal after a soak.
🥾 Explore
Far View Shenandoah sits near Front Royal, the northern gateway to Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park — both about 25 minutes away. The Shenandoah River, local wineries, hiking, and Front Royal's shops and restaurants are all within an easy drive.
A car is the easiest way to get around. Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park are about 25 minutes, and Front Royal's groceries, gas, and restaurants are a short drive for anything you need.
📕 Property Guide • Once confirmed, you'll receive a detailed digital guide with cabin-specific info, directions, FAQs, and our favorite wineries, hikes, restaurants, and outdoor adventures.
📶 Connectivity • Fast WiFi, around 770 Mbps, supports streaming, remote work, and video calls. Cell service can be limited in the mountains, but WiFi calling keeps you connected.
🚗 Getting Here & Winter Weather • Most of the drive in is paved, with a short stretch of well-packed gravel at the end. Standard 2WD is fine most of the year; during snow or ice, AWD or 4WD is recommended and occasionally required, and we'll share access guidance ahead of any winter storm.
🐶 Pets • Up to two dogs are welcome per stay — please add them to your reservation so the pet fee applies automatically. Additional dogs may be considered case by case with an extra cleaning fee. ESAs are considered pets and subject to the same policies, while service animals are always welcome — please let us know in advance so we can alert our cleaning team.
🚼 Family-Friendly • Traveling with little ones? A pack 'n play and full-size high chair are provided.
🧯 Safety & Cleanliness • All bedding is washed between every reservation. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are installed throughout, with fire extinguishers on each level, plus flashlights and lanterns for the rare power outage. The hot tub is not gated, so children should be supervised around it at all times.
🦌 Wildlife & Mountain Setting • Nestled among forest and open sky, you'll likely spot deer, wild turkeys, and the occasional fox. Insects and small critters can make an appearance now and then — part of the charm of a true mountain setting.
🌡️ Heating, Cooling • As a former hunting cabin, the home doesn't have central heating or AC. Mini-splits in the main living area and basement handle year-round comfort, with an additional AC unit in the loft and supplemental heaters in the bedrooms. Note that each bedroom does not have its own dedicated AC unit.
🌸 Special Requests & Celebrations • Celebrating something? We offer curated packages — flowers, champagne, décor, and other personal touches. Reach out after booking; advance notice is appreciated, but we'll do our best with last-minute requests.
We're reachable by message, text, or phone, and our local team is close by if anything comes up. We aim to be hands-off and respect your privacy, but your comfort is our priority — reach out anytime.

Lovely space with a fantastic view. I would certainly recommend it.
Matt was a great host and allowed us to check in two hours early. His cabin was absolutely stunning with a FULLY STOCKED kitchen.
This trip was fantastic. The property was peaceful and had such a beautiful view for such a great price! We got to see so much wildlife, it was great. It was so nice to see it well stocked! Even had spices. We really felt right at home. Definitely looking at coming again. Thank you!
